"BOOM" explores the concept of technology's impact on human existence by combining the use of dynamite sticks and an Oculus headset. This series of sculptures aims to investigate the intersections between physical and virtual reality, paradoxically highlighting the increasingly blurred boundaries between the two worlds and their consequences on the daily perception of context.
The artwork consists of a series of dynamite sticks arranged in a physical space, anticipating an ideal destruction of both the visual and physical field surrounding the piece. The Oculus headset offers an immediate connection to the social, ethical, and evocative implications of technology, alluding to the metaphor of an impending "destruction."
Furthermore, the installation emphasizes individual and collective responsibility in the use of emerging technologies, paradoxically underlining the need for a close-up approach to the broader issue of the "virtual vision" of reality.
